History
The ThetaHealing® method was created by Vianna Stibal in the mid-1990s.
The technique took shape in 1995, through her own experiences and those of others, and from 2006 Vianna began teaching the method, which now has a global community.
ThetaHealing® is now present worldwide, in nearly 180 countries, and hundreds of thousands of consultants and trainers work with this method.
Its basic principle is that unconditional love, acceptance, and inner knowing are the birthright of every human being.
Within each of us lies the ability to connect with the Creator of that Is – regardless of origin, religion, belief system, or cultural background.
Over the years, Vianna has written numerous books about the method, which have been published in 25 different languages. These provide a deeper insight into the ThetaHealing® approach, although a true understanding of the method is most often achieved through personal experience.

Vianna originally began to delve deeper into the mind-body connection due to her own health challenges. She studied Taoism, nutrition, and herbal medicine, and in 1994 opened her own business, offering massage, nutritional counseling, and natural methods. She later began helping others intuitively.
In 1995, she received a serious diagnosis: bone cancer was found in her right femur, amputation was recommended, and she was given only a few months to live. Although her condition was poor and she was in severe pain, she continued to work, while her intuitive perception became increasingly refined.
Vianna never opposed conventional medicine – she always considered it important to seek professional advice. However, she had a strong intuition that a different solution was needed in a given situation. Relying on her intuition and inner guidance, she began to apply the methods she used to help others to herself.
The results of the subsequent biopsy did not confirm bone cancer, which surprised the doctors. During further internal work, Vianna received information suggesting mercury poisoning and continued the self-healing process. The doctors then recommended physical rehabilitation for her to be able to walk properly again.
About the Method
ThetaHealing® is a meditation-based inner work that supports change on a physical, mental, and spiritual level.
During the process, a focused inner attention and prayer to the Creator helps with resolution and reframing.
It is important to emphasize that although the method works with the concept of the "Creator" or "Creator of All", it is not a religious movement and is not tied to any belief system. It can be applied regardless of age, gender, religious or cultural background.
ThetaHealing® is not a substitute for professional medical care, but in many cases it can effectively complement modern medicine and other therapeutic approaches.
It is my personal belief that well-being requires the combined development of mind, body, and spirit.
This approach can be very well aligned with cognitive and psychological therapies (e.g. CBT, schema therapy), and in my experience, the combined approach often brings about faster and more lasting change.
The Role of the Theta State
During ThetaHealing®, we reach a deeply relaxed, so-called theta brainwave state through meditation.
This state is familiar to all of us: before falling asleep, after waking up, and in the early years of our childhood, our brains naturally operate in this frequency range.
During this period, subconscious beliefs, patterns, and habits are formed that give us security, but can also often limit us as adults.
Childhood experiences—even well-intentioned warnings—can be deeply embedded and later influence our reactions, decisions, and self-image.
ThetaHealing® provides support in recognizing and transforming these subconscious programs.

The process, very briefly
There is a root cause behind every blockage.
If this can be recognized and resolved, the problem often loses its power.
The consultation starts with a short conversation where you explain why you came to me and what kind of change you would like to see.
We then work on the root of the problem through guided meditation. We replace limiting beliefs with more supportive perspectives, and work with healing imagery and inner experiences.
It is important to emphasize that we only go back in memories as far as your soul and mind can safely accept it.
More serious traumas do not necessarily appear in the form of literal images – often symbols, feelings, or visual experiences are enough to work with.
We cannot change the events of the past.
We transform the feelings, reactions, and internal attitudes associated with it so that the memory is no longer upsetting, holding back, or burdensome.
Change isn't always a big leap — sometimes a question is enough.
